Problem Note 43127: "Access is denied" when attempting to run the switcher utility with the SAS® Add-in for Microsoft Office

If you attempt to run the switcher utility that is installed with the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, you might receive an exception similar to the following:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Access is denied.
After you receive this message, the switcher utility will close. This problem can occur when you are denied executable permissions to the regsvr32.exe file located in your Windows system folder. This can be a problem if you are just trying to enable or disable Office products as you don't need to execute the regsvr32 command in order to perform that task.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix, you will still receive the following error, which is expected.
Unable to run regsvr32 on: SAS.OfficeAddin.Loader.dll
This message just indicates that the registration part of the executable did not complete. However, after this message, the utility will continue executing, and it will complete the process to enable you to use the switcher utility to enable or disable Office products. You might experience a short delay after the above message appears. Do not perform any actions until the utility has completed its execution.
